Work with me
Services
Three things I do well. All inquiry-based — no rates published because every engagement is different. Email me and we'll figure it out.
Home Technology
Luxury Home Technology Concierge
Wealthy vacation homeowners around Big Sky need someone competent, trustworthy, and physically available when something goes wrong. Most of the people selling home technology in this market are not local. I am.
I handle:
- Network infrastructure (Unifi — WiFi, switching, routing, VPN)
- AV systems — whole-home audio, TVs, remotes that actually work
- Smart home (Home Assistant) — lighting, climate, presence, automation
- Security systems — alarm systems, access control, and AI-powered cameras (Frigate) that know the difference between a deer and a person
- Remote monitoring — I see problems before you do, and I'm close enough to respond when they need hands on-site
When your alarm trips at 2am or the internet goes down before a long weekend, you don't want a call center. You want someone with a key to your utility closet who lives twenty minutes away. That's the actual service here.
Revenue model is a monthly retainer per property plus project work. You get someone who knows your house, answers the phone, and doesn't make you feel like an idiot for asking.
New Builds & Renovations
Smart Home Design & Installation
Full smart home design and installation for new builds and significant renovations. I work at the design phase — which is when it matters — and see it through to the day you flip the switch.
I cover:
- Lighting design and control (Lutron, Home Assistant, scene-based)
- Climate and HVAC integration
- Security: cameras, access control, alarms
- AV: whole-home audio, dedicated theater, distributed video
- Energy monitoring and management
- Network infrastructure designed for density and reliability
I can talk to your architect about conduit runs, to your builder about rough-in timing, and to you about what you actually want to live with. That combination is genuinely rare.
For Small Businesses
Fractional CTO / Tech Advisor
Small businesses and startups need technology decisions made by someone who's been in the room when things go wrong. Not just a consultant who delivers a report — someone with skin in the game.
What I bring:
- 30 years of software project management and developer management
- Architecture and vendor selection — knowing what to buy vs. build
- Technical communication — translating between engineers and everyone else
- Hiring: knowing who to hire, how to evaluate them, how to keep them
- Identifying the real problem, not just the one you described
Retainer-based. I stay involved, I learn your context, and I give you honest advice instead of whatever keeps the engagement going.
