Pony

Privacy policy

Effective September 14, 2026

Pony doesn't collect anything about you. There's no Pony server, no account, no analytics, and no advertising. I make Pony, and I can't see your reminders, your places, or anything else you put into it.

Here's where everything goes.

Your reminders

Pony reads and writes the reminders in Apple Reminders on your device. They sync between your devices the way Apple Reminders always has, through your iCloud account. Pony keeps no copy of its own.

Pony's own details

Some things Apple Reminders has no place for: how a reminder nags you, the places it waits for, snoozes, where you were when you added it, and which of your devices you're using, so only one of them shows each alert. Pony keeps these in your private iCloud database and syncs them between your devices. It also keeps the time of your first reminder in iCloud, so the free 48 hours don't start over on a second device.

A private iCloud database belongs to your iCloud account. Apple stores it, and the developer of an app can't read it.

Speech and the language model

When you tap the mic on your iPhone, Apple's speech recognition turns your voice into text on the device. Pony doesn't save the audio or send it anywhere. On the Mac, dictation is the Mac's own, covered by Apple's privacy policy.

If Pony's grammar can't read part of a sentence and your device has Apple Intelligence, Pony asks the on-device model to fill in what's missing. The sentence stays on your device.

Location

Location is optional. Pony asks for it only when you use something that needs it.

Turning a location into a place name, and finding a place by name or address, go through Apple Maps. Apple handles those requests under its own privacy policy.

Notifications and alarms

Pony schedules its notifications and alarms on your devices. When a reminder changes on one device, iCloud can send your others a silent notification so they update their schedule.

Purchases

Apple handles the subscription. Pony learns only whether it's active. It never sees your name, your email address, or how you paid.

The pony command

The pony command talks to the Pony app on the same Mac and nothing else. If you let an AI agent use it, that agent sees whatever it reads and writes through the command, and the agent's own privacy terms apply to that.

Email

If you write to pony@pantuso.com, I get your email address and whatever you send, and I use them only to answer you.

Changes

If Pony's handling of your information changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
