Pony
Ride me like a pony.
Pony nags you about your Apple Reminders until they're done. Say what you need to remember and how you want to be bugged about it, and Pony keeps asking until you check it off.
The name comes from a comment my daughter's school counselor made about his own ADHD, "I need someone to ride me like a pony."
For iPhone on iOS 27 and Mac on macOS 27. Free download, first month free, then $14.99 a year.
Say it once
Tap the mic and say it the way you'd tell a person: "call the dentist at 9, nag me every 15 minutes." Pony saves it to Apple Reminders right away and reads back what it heard. If it heard wrong, Undo is right there.
It keeps asking
A Pony reminder doesn't go quiet after one notification. It comes back until you mark it done. Say nothing about how, and it nags every hour. Or say how:
- Every few minutes until it's done
nag me every 15 minutes
- Just once
just once, 3pm, check the oven
- An alarm that rings through Silent and Focus on your iPhone
wake me for the 6:40 check-in
- Louder if you ignore it: a notification, then Time Sensitive, then an alarm
every weekday at 8 take meds, don't let me skip it
- When you get somewhere
take the chicken out when I get home, give me 10 minutes
- The next time you sit down at your Mac
next time I'm at my Mac, rotate the API key
- Early, for things due far off
renew passport by March, start bugging me in January
Nothing is overdue
Pony sorts your reminders into Now, Soon, Tomorrow, This Week, and Later. There's no overdue pile, no streak to break, and no count of how many times you snoozed. Pony will ask again later, and it's never disappointed in you.
Your reminders stay in Apple Reminders
Pony works on Apple Reminders directly, so Siri and the Reminders app see the same reminders it does. Add one with Siri and Pony nags you about that one too.
Pony's own details, like how often to nag and which place a reminder waits for, sync through your private iCloud database. There's no account, no server, and no analytics. Dictation and the language model run on your device. The privacy policy has the rest.
On the Mac, and in Terminal
On the Mac, Pony lives in the menu bar. Press Control-Option-P from anywhere to add a reminder.
The pony command does what the app does, from Terminal. It's built for AI agents as much as for people, so every command takes --json.

Download pony for Mac, or install it with Homebrew:
brew install jpantuso/tap/pony
What it costs
Pony is free to download, and everything works for 48 hours after your first reminder. After that it's $14.99 a year, and the first month is free. Apple charges your account when the free month ends unless you cancel first.
One subscription covers your iPhone, your Macs, and the pony command, and Family Sharing is included. If you stop, your reminders stay where they are in Apple Reminders. Pony just stops nagging.
